When I first moved to Utah, I noticed we had a bunch of wild lavender growing in our new backyard. As spring approached, I noticed bees starting to appear to pollinate the flowers, and, over time, a few bees turned into hundreds of bees. I even saw these odd bumblebee-like bees with orange stripes on their backs, which turned out to be called “Orange-Belted Bumblebees,” or “Bombus Ternarius.” They’re pretty damn cute, I gotta say- especially when their little orange butts stick out of the lavender.
